Depending on efficiency of your boiler it might be cheaper in the long run to use a gas boiler. I think the most efficient gas boiler is 92%+ efficient and gas is much cheaper than oil. I'd give you numbers to compare with but I don't know the specs of your current boiler. But anyways these savings usually only matter for larger buildings, unless you live in a pimp-house.
